I Asked Claude and Gemini to Predict FIFA World Cup 2026 Winner

Both AI’s are agreed on same team…

As the quarterfinal lineup is complete in FIFA 2026 and my favourite Portugal Team is out of the World Cup, I asked two different AI models the same question about the winner and expected two different answers.

Claude, built by Anthropic and Gemini by Google. These two are trained on different data, have different teams, and different design philosophies. I never expected them to agree on anything.

I asked both to predict the Football World Cup winner one by the numbers and the other by choice.

I used the free version of Claude and the Pro version of Gemini. Surprisingly, both were up to date on the tournament.

I expected disagreement on prediction, but it was the opposite.

Both picked France on the basis of stats, and Argentina by choice.

Looking at the history behind these two teams, that division makes sense.
